The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has approved a 2.45% upward adjustment in electricity tariffs effective July 1, 2025, while maintaining water tariffs at current levels.

The increase is part of the Commission's Quarterly Tariff Review Mechanism, which factors in fluctuations in inflation, exchange rates, fuel prices, and power generation dynamics.

A key parameter in this review was the Ghana Cedi to US dollar exchange rate, recorded at GHS10.3052, along with a projected inflation rate of 20.67%.

Electricity tariffs for residential, non-residential, and industrial consumers will see modest increases across usage brackets.
