More than 100 traders from Aboadze, Abuesi, Inchaban, Dwomo, and Nyankrom in the Shama District have reportedly fallen victim to a suspected scam by the Business for Home Susu Company (BHSC).
The company allegedly collected savings from the traders but failed to account for the funds, despite entries in passbooks linked to AKGMB Multilevel Business.
A police investigation later revealed that the actual benefiting company was BHSC, which had been operating without the required permits and licenses.
In Akan, 'Susu' refers to informal savings.
