Ghanaian journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has sparked fresh debate about the role of media professionals in Ghana's political discourse.
In a candid Facebook post, he stated, "I'm not politically neutral." According to Manasseh, being a journalist does not disqualify one from being a concerned citizen who votes, expresses opinions, and demands accountability from political leaders. "I am a citizen of Ghana, first and foremost, before being a journalist.
I vote.
And I have an interest in who becomes my president," he asserted, challenging the often romanticized notion of journalistic neutrality.
