Former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has explained that if his religion and tribe contributed to the party's failure in the 2024 election, he would have stepped aside.

He explains that he is not a selfish person and values the party, but the Mike Ocquaye Committee report and other research have proven that the NPP did not lose because of his religion or tribe.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia made this known when he addressed the conference of the chairmen for the New Patriotic Party in Kumasi on June 21, 2025. "My religion and tribe were not factors in the 2024 election.

They were not factors, so we should not try to inject that Christians will not vote for Bawumia.
