The Staff Division of the National Service Authority (NSA), under the Public Services Workers' Union (PSWU) of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), Ghana, has welcomed the government's decision to suspend the Central Management System (CMS) currently in use at the NSA.
In a statement dated June 18, 2025, and signed by Ayirebi Adubofour, Chairperson of the NSA Staff Union, along with other key officers, the Union praised the Minister of Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, for acting decisively in response to long-standing concerns raised about the CMS.
The suspension, officially communicated through release number "MYDE/NSA/BIA/008," has been hailed by staff as a necessary and prudent step toward restoring credibility and trust in the operations of the Authority. "We take this rare opportunity to commend the Minister of Youth Development and Empowerment, for his decision-on behalf of the Government of the Republic-to suspend the CMS at the National Service Authority," the statement read.
The Union cited serious concerns dating back to investigations conducted by Sulemana Braimah of the Media Foundation for West Africa, who uncovered irregularities within the NSS operations and questioned the integrity of the CMS, which was managed by a private consultant, Inpath Technologies Ghana.
