The 2024 Presidential Candidate of the and former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed gratitude to the 60 Members of who visited his office on Thursday, June 19, 2025, to reaffirm their support for his bid to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.
Addressing the press after the meeting, he described the gathering as a show of solidarity and commitment from the MPs. "I'm very happy with the group of MPs who have declared their support for me.
I now have the backing of 60 Members of , and considering there are 88 NPP MPs, that tells you a very significant number have endorsed me," he noted.
Dr Bawumia acknowledged the endorsement and emphasised the need for continued work to improve his chances across their respective constituencies in his bid to become the NPP's 2028 presidential candidate. "Members of largely control the constituencies, and I am very grateful for what they have done today," he added.
