Tensions flared in Parliament on Tuesday, June 18, 2025, during the vetting of Supreme Court nominee Justice Hafisata Amaleboba, as Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin fiercely confronted the Chairman of Parliament's Appointments Committee, Bernard Ahiafor.

The heated exchange began after Chairman Ahiafor ruled that a question posed by Afenyo-Markin was repetitive and had already been answered, thus barring the nominee from responding again.

But Afenyo-Markin was not having it. "Chairman, if you want to find a way to stop this vetting, I will yield to you.

Stop what you are doing. "The whole country is watching.
