Former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko has described the decision to elect a flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of other executives as strategically unsound, politically indefensible, and organizationally reckless.

According to him, it does not make sense for a political party to elect a flagbearer before they come back to elect executives who are meant to support him/her in the campaign.

Indicating that it is a recipe for confusion, conflict, and collapse.

Boakye Agyarko holds the view that this is a total deviation from the norm, explaining that "The NPP has always prided itself on order, process, and bottom-up empowerment.
