Supreme Court nominee Justice Senyo Dzamefe has emphasised the importance of asset declaration by judges, aligning them with the obligations of other government appointees.

He asserted that members of the judiciary must comply with this constitutional requirement.

Justice Dzamefe made these remarks during his vetting by Parliament's Appointments Committee on Monday June 16, 2025.

He stressed that judges should not be exempt from the constitutional mandate to declare their assets. "If the law states that all government appointees should declare their assets, and judges are government appointees, why not?
