President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has ordered the Finance Minister and the Energy Minister, as a matter of urgency, to take steps to ensure that the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran do not affect the gains made with fuel prices.

He urged them to assess the potential impact on global fuel prices and devise measures to protect Ghana's recent economic gains.

President John Dramani Mahama made the remarks during his 'Thank You' Tour of the Savannah Region. "Despite the work we have done in stabilising the economy, Ghana is not immune from the shocks of global events.

Recent events from the Middle East, which involve an exchange of missiles between Israel and Iran, has started to escalate crude oil prices dramatically.
