A group of students from Lawra Senior High School in the Upper West Region drowned while attempting to cross the Dikpe River on the morning of Saturday, June 14, 2025.
According to eyewitnesses and local sources, ten students were reportedly onboard a boat trying to make their way across the river when the incident occurred.
Sadly, only three of the students survived the accident.
Rescue efforts led to the discovery of three bodies shortly after the incident.
