The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, along with members of the Police Management Board, paid a working visit to the Police Hospital in Accra on April 13, 2025, to commend the hospital's administration and staff for their effective handling of the surge in patients during the strike by the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association.
The Medical Director of the hospital, Commissioner of Police, Dr Otu Nyarko who received the IGP and his team informed them that over the past one week, the hospital saw over 300% increase in the number of patients who visit the hospital to access medical care.
A similar situation was reported at the Police Hospital, Kumasi and other Police clinics across the country.
He added that even though this brought some pressure on the hospital, contingency measures were put in place to manage the situation.
