The (EC) has announced that temporary staff who worked during the 2024 general elections will receive their allowances by June 20, 2025.
This announcement comes after a prolonged delay of seven months, bringing relief to the affected staff.
In a letter addressed to the temporary staff on June 12, the EC assured that payments would be made on or before Friday, June 20.
Earlier reports on June 12 highlighted mounting public complaints and protests from unpaid staff, with some expressing their frustrations on live radio.
