The Wa Circuit Court has sentenced 19-year-old Adams Hamidu, also known as "Gyida", to 20 years imprisonment with hard labour for robbery.

The conviction, secured by the Upper West Regional Police Command, was delivered on June 5, 2025, following a successful investigation and prosecution.

The case dates back to February 2025, when Gyida, along with an accomplice wearing a mask, robbed a victim of a blue Honda motorbike valued at GH¢20,000, a Tecno mobile phone worth GH¢1,300, and cash totalling GH¢10,800.

Following intelligence-led operations, police arrested Hamidu on June 1, 2025, at Domowa in the Wa West District.
