The Ministry of Health has expressed optimism that the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) will soon suspend its ongoing strike, which has disrupted healthcare services nationwide.
This follows a meeting between the Ministry and the Association, during which GRNMA leadership indicated they would consult their National Council before announcing their next steps.
Although the Association rejected the government's proposal to defer the implementation of their collective agreement to next year, the Ministry's spokesperson, Tony Goodman, remains confident that a resolution is near. "We are confident they will not continue with the strike.
The proposals made during the meeting were largely aligned with their own concerns.
