Davis Ansah Opoku, a member of the Communications Committee in Parliament and MP for Mpraeso, has urged the government to not only increase the amount of data bundles but also advocate for unlimited monthly data plans for Ghanaians.
His remarks follow the government's recent announcement that larger data bundles will be available from mobile network providers MTN, Telecel, and AT starting July 1, 2025.
Sam George, the Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, stated at a news conference that the three major networks would be offering 10% to 15% more data on existing bundles.
For instance, MTN will reinstate its GHC399 bundle-which had previously been reduced-to offer 214GB.
