Muslims have been urged to ensure that their actions reflect the true meaning of sacrifice, as they observe the Eid-ul-Adha celebrations. The Ghana Airforce Imam, Flight Lieutenant Moucharoudine-Siddique Maiga, in a statement copied to The Ghanaian Times yesterday, said that Eid-ul-Adha, was not only about commemorating willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son, Ismail.According to him, the celebration of the Eid-ul-Adha was to ensure that Muslims embraced the values of selflessness, responsibility, and devotion to Allah.Flt.

Maiga said this by drawing several key lessons from Prophet Ibrahim's sacrifice to Allah. He emphasised the importance of one's wealth for better health, citing the need for governments to invest in healthcare infrastructure to create a comfortable environment for the citizenry. The Ghana Airforce Imam urged leaders to prioritise the well-being of future generations by making sacrifice in their own comfort. He also encouraged Muslims to sacrifice their ego and seek knowledge from others, regardless of their status or age, saying "When we sacrifice our ego, that is where we are able to kneel down before those that we think we are older than them or we are far advanced than them to learn some basic skills that we may need in our lives."Flt.
