The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has reacted to assertions that its decision to declare former Minister of Finance, , wanted is wrong because it did not do so for Samuel Mahama in its investigation into the Airbus Scandal.
A section of the public has said that the OSP could have gone to the United States (US) to interview Ofori-Atta, just as it went to the United Kingdom (UK) to interview Samuel Mahama, a brother of President , who was involved in the Airbus scandal.
Speaking in a panel discussion on JoyNews' NewsFile, on June 7, 2025, the Director of Strategy, Research and Communication at the OSP, Samuel Darko, said that an INTERPOL notice was issued for Samuel Mahama.
He said that the only reason the OSP went to the UK to continue its investigation was because the security authorities did not want to extradite Samuel. "This assertion, which is beginning to gain ground, is that why is it that the OSP travelled to the United Kingdom?
