Academic activities at the Kumasi Nursing and Midwifery Training School have slowed down as members of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), who are lecturers, have deserted the lecture rooms in line with the Association's ongoing strike.

The students lament the impact the action is already having on teaching and learning, which is affecting preparations ahead of their mid-semester exams next week. "We are in our revision week for this semester, so tutors are supposed to be in class today so they can help us to revise for our mid-semester, but it is quite unfortunate that health workers are on strike.

It is really retarding our studies.

Today we are just in class, nothing is going on," a student told Channel One News. "This strike is having of impact on our studies.
