A 30-year-old woman, Mavis Nkrumah, has been arrested by the Tesano Divisional Police Command for allegedly attacking her ex-boyfriend with a substance suspected to be acid.
The incident occurred in the early hours of May 28, 2025, at Ablekuma Fan Milk, a suburb of Accra.
According to police reports, Mavis had gone to visit her former partner, 29-year-old taxi driver Gideon Frimpong, to confirm their breakup.
Superintendent Julianna Obeng, Head of the Greater Accra Regional Police Command's Public Affairs Unit, said in a statement that the suspect showed up at Frimpong's residence unannounced around 1:00 a.m.
