Canadian conglomerate Rektron Group has revealed plans to acquire a 60% stake in AT Ghana Limited, marking a major step into Ghana's telecom sector in partnership with local firm Afritel Ghana Limited.
The deal, which remains subject to regulatory approvals and due diligence, was announced on June 4 through a statement issued from Vancouver.
Rektron emphasized that the move aligns with its global strategy to deepen investments in emerging markets and strengthen digital infrastructure across Africa.
AT Ghana, formerly AirtelTigo, is currently fully owned by the Ghanaian government after it was nationalized in 2021.
