Though he didn't emerge winner in the Reggae Song of the Year category at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), Ghanaian rapper Amerado says he harbours no disappointment.
Instead, he has expressed admiration for the winning track, Stonebwoy's "Psalm 23," which he considers one of his favourites. In an interview on Hitz FM on Monday, June 2, 2025, Amerado shared that he genuinely expected his song "Ankonam" to pick up the award, especially among the three nominations he received."But with the ones that I got nominated for, I think Ankonam.
I expected Ankonam to win the Reggae Song of the Year, but then it went to Stonebwoy, which is also fine because Psalm 23 is also one of my favourite songs from Stonebwoy," he explained.
However, what left the "Kweku Ananse" hitmaker more disappointed was the exclusion of his song "Abronoma" from the Songwriter of the Year category-a slot he believed the song deserved based on its lyrical depth and quality. "I was expecting to be in the Songwriter of the Year category with Abronoma, and up to now it still marvels my mind why I didn't go in there," he said.
