The Director of Legal Affairs of the , Gary Nimako, has lambasted , the lawyer of Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM on Monday, June 7, 2025, Gary Nimako accused Appiah-Kubi of telling lies about not knowing of a bail variation application he filed for the court to reduce the GH¢50 million bail set by EOCO for Wontumi's release.
He added that Appiah-Kubi's assertion that Wontumi was not granted bail on Friday, May 30, 2025, because of the variation application he (Nimako) filed was totally wrong. "A variation application is not an injunction application that could have stopped the ongoing process.
It was a plea to the court to reduce the bail amount because it was too much, so we could meet the condition of release.
