Former Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Inusah Fuseini, says the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) did not violate the rights of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, despite delays in his release from custody.
EOCO finally released Wontumi on Monday, June 2, almost a week after his arrest.
He is being investigated for a series of serious criminal offences, including fraud, causing financial loss to the state, and money laundering.
EOCO granted him GHS50 million bail with two sureties on Wednesday, May 28, but he could not meet the conditions immediately.
