The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popular known as Chairman Wontumi has been released by Economic and Organised Crime (EOCO), Monday June 2, 2025.
This comes after he met his bail conditions, with assistance facilitated by , the former Minister for Food and Agriculture and Member of for Abetifi, who stood as one of the sureties for Chairman Wontumi.
A motion to appeal Wontumi's GH¢50 million bail condition was formally withdrawn by his legal team on Monday, June 2, 2025.
Originally submitted on May 30, 2025, to the High Court in Accra, the motion was scheduled for hearing on Tuesday, June 3.
