The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ablekuma Central in the Greater Accra Region, Frank Nkansah, on May 30, 2025, engaged with roadside mechanics and traders within the municipality to address issues related to the indiscriminate parking of broken-down vehicles along road shoulders.
During the engagement, Nkansah issued a five-day ultimatum to mechanics and traders to remove all vehicles and goods encroaching on the roads.
He warned that failure to comply will result in a decongestion operation, during which any vehicle found parked on the road shoulders would be towed at a penalty of GH¢5,000 with no room for reduction or negotiation.
He also called on mechanic shop owners who have not yet paid their operational permits to do so before the deadline or face further sanctions.
