President John Dramani Mahama has commended Sammy Gyamfi, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana GoldBoard (Goldbod), for what he describes as an impressive start to the new institution's operations.
Speaking on the performance of the Goldbod shortly after its launch, Mahama said, "Mr.
Sammy Gyamfi is the Chief Executive of the Ghana Goldbod, and he is already doing wonders." The Ghana GoldBoard, which was formerly known as the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), was officially launched on April 2, 2025.
It was created to bring structure, oversight, and regulation to the country's gold trading space-especially within the small-scale mining sector.
