The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has labelled allegations made by Dr.
Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), as "unfortunate." During a rally in Nkroranza, Dr Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, accused the NDC of orchestrating the deaths of two pastors and a traditionalist, as well as demolishing mosques.
He cited these actions as reasons for Zongo communities to vote against the NDC in the upcoming elections.
In response, the NDC stated that it will not be distracted by such claims and remains focused on addressing the country's economic challenges.
Mustapha Gbande, Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, emphasized in an interview with Citi News: In an interview with Citi Deputy General Secretary, Mustapha Gbande said "If the NPP's choice is to be insulting in order to win power, I do not think that insults are what Ghanaians need at the moment.
I do not think that his [NAPO's] comment will convince even his own party people to vote for the NPP because that doesn't put food on the table. "That does not solve the Ghanaian problem.
The solution to the Ghanian problem is what the NDC put out by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama. "We expect the NPP to do the same, but they have lost that opportunity.
That is why they are resorting to these kinds of insults.
The least that society expects him to do is what he is engaging in. "So the NDC will not follow into the gutter.
We will leave him there, but we are more focused on the Ghanaian problem, solving the Ghanaian problem.
We are more centred on how to build a country."
