A member of the NDC's national communication team, Hamza Suhuyini has criticised NPP MP for Abetifi, Bryan Acheampong, over his recent decision to form an exploratory committee to assess his suitability for the NPP's 2028 presidential primaries.

Speaking on Metro TV's Good Morning Ghana on May 30,2025, Suhuyini described the move as ill-timed and self-serving, arguing that Dr Acheampong's focus on personal ambition undermines the party's efforts to rebuild following its 2024 electoral loss. "Any true member of the NPP must be concerned about the image and rebuilding effort of the party, not your individual personal ambitions at this critical stage.

If he was minded, he could've used the rebuilding effort, dedicate himself to that effort and in the process carve a niche for himself without necessarily engaging in this epileptic political strategy intended to secure some relevance within his political party", he indicated.

Suhuyini questioned the necessity of issuing a press statement to announce an exploratory committee, suggesting the move was intended more to shape public perception than to engage in genuine internal consultation. "You're allowed to do your own internal research.
