An autopsy has confirmed that Gifty Okyere, a 28-year-old final-year nursing student at Sunyani Nursing and Midwifery Training College, died of an acute asthma attack in her boyfriend's room, ruling out foul play.
According to a report by kessbenonline.com, preliminary accounts indicate that Okyere began experiencing breathing difficulties while in the room of her boyfriend, Edmond Ayomah, on May 27, 2025.
Despite efforts to assist her, she lost consciousness before emergency help could arrive.
Ayomah subsequently turned himself in to the local police, cooperating fully with authorities during the investigation.
