A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Osei-Kusi Asante, popularly known as KOKA, has delivered a strongly worded warning to officers of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), accusing them of bias and vowing retaliation if the NPP returns to power.
Speaking amid growing tensions surrounding the arrest and detention of NPP's Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), KOKA did not mince words, suggesting that some officers were mocking the party's current predicament and would eventually face retribution. "I know where you stay, you are laughing at us.
We know you be there mocking us, and your time will come," he warned, alluding to what he believes is political bias within the law enforcement institutions.
KOKA claimed the Ghana Police Service and other security agencies were no longer serving in the national interest but were being manipulated by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to target political opponents. "Right now, it is a personal vendetta because the police are working for the government… The police are telling us they won't give us the chance to enter the premises," he alleged.
