The Western North Regional Police Command, led by DCOP Dr Francis Kwame Tsidi, has launched a special operation to clamp down on unlicensed and reckless tricycle riders, as part of efforts to improve road safety across the region.

The operation, which began on May 28, 2025, is aimed at addressing the increasing number of road crashes attributed to the irresponsible use of motorcycles and tricycles.

According to the police, several individuals were arrested during the crackdown for operating unregistered tricycles, riding without valid licenses, and engaging in dangerous conduct on public roads.

Following their arrest, the offenders were arraigned before the District Magistrate Court in Sefwi Wiawso, presided over by His Worship Eric Baah Boateng.
