Leadership and members of the Minority Caucus were present in on Friday, May 30, 2025, despite an earlier announcement to boycott proceedings.
The boycott was declared in response to the Economic and Organised Crime Office's (EOCO) GH¢50 million bail imposed on the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the (NPP), Benard Antwi Bosiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
On Thursday, May 29, 2025, the Minority staged a walkout from and marched to the EOCO office to protest Chairman Wontumi's detention.
Upon arriving at EOCO's office, the Minority MPs sat on the street in front of the building for several minutes to protest the detention of Chairman Wontumi and what they described as "unfair" bail conditions.
