The Interior Ministry has officially declared Friday, June 6, 2025, as a statutory public holiday in observance of Eid-ul-Adha.

In a statement signed by the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the public was urged to recognize the day as a holiday nationwide.

Eid-ul-Adha, also known as the "Festival of Sacrifice," is one of the most important celebrations in the Islamic calendar.

It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah, a story honored by Muslims around the world.
