The National Communications Authority (NCA) has notified Multichoice Ghana Limited of its intention to suspend its authorisation for providing subscription management services for satellite television broadcasting in Ghana.

In a press release dated August 7, 2025, the NCA cited Section 13 of the Electronic Communications Act, 2008 (Act 775), as the legal basis for the move.

The regulator explained that the decision follows concerns about Multichoice Ghana's pricing model, which it considers "inimical to the public interest." According to the NCA, the company's pricing approach triggered regulatory action, although specific details were not disclosed in the statement.

The NCA has granted Multichoice Ghana a 30-day window to respond.
