Elikplim Akurugu, Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya Constituency, joined students of Abokobi Presby School and Akporman Model 2 Basic School to commemorate World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025, focusing on promoting dignity, self-care, and education for young girls.
The event, held under the theme of improving menstrual health and hygiene, featured the distribution of free sanitary pads to girls, in line with President John Dramani Mahama's policy initiative aimed at supporting girls in basic schools.
This initiative is a key step toward eliminating barriers that cause many girls to miss school during their periods.
Akurugu commended the President's commitment to the welfare of young girls and applauded the involvement of mNotify Company Ltd., which also donated sanitary pads to support the celebration.
