New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart Kodua Frimpong has come out strongly against the ₵50 million bail imposed on Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, describing it as "absurd" and politically motivated.

Addressing a crowd of charged NPP supporters outside the EOCO headquarters, Frimpong didn't hold back. "This ₵50 million bail?

It's not justice-it's a trap," he declared in a video sighted by MyNewsGh. "They just want to keep Chairman Wontumi locked up.

It's abuse of power, plain and simple." Frimpong went on to accuse the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of using state institutions to target NPP leaders. "Have you ever seen this happen before?" he asked the crowd, who responded with shouts of disapproval. "We all know what's going on.
