Members of the Minority Caucus of walked out of during proceedings on Thursday, May 29, 2025, over the continued detention of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, who was arrested by EOCO on Tuesday.
Before the walkout, the Minority Leader, , said that his side of the House would be boycotting proceedings and joining Wontumi at the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) until he is released.
True to their word, the NPP MPs, after walking out of the floor of , took to the streets, walking towards EOCO.
The MPs could be heard chanting the NPP anthem as they walked briskly to EOCO.
