Following recent media reports alleging the arrest of Ghanaian business mogul Joseph Boateng, popularly known as Dada Joe, by the FBI, a spokesperson has dismissed the claims as false.

In an interview with 's Joseph Henry Mensah on May 28, 2025, Fredrick Agyei stated that reports about Dada Joe's arrest by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are untrue, as no official statement has been released by any security agency. "If indeed the Ghana Police, EOCO, and the FBI had apprehended him, what is preventing them from issuing a statement to confirm the arrest?

As long as there is no official statement from the FBI, EOCO, or the police, it means nothing of the sort has happened," he said.

When pressed again by Joseph Henry Mensah on the truth of the rumors, Agyei responded, "I can emphatically say that there hasn't been any official statement indicating that Joseph Boateng, also known as Dada Joe, has been picked up." Agyei further noted that Dada Joe's team would soon release an official press statement to address the widespread speculations on social media. "We are in the process of preparing an official press statement to address the issue.
