Dozens of residents in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region have been displaced following a series of tidal waves that ravaged coastal communities, including Agavedzi, Salakope, and Amutinu.

Channel One News can confirm that although the waves have receded, they left behind extensive damage.

The high tides not only swept away homes but also submerged sections of the main road, leaving it covered in seawater and sand up to 12 centimetres deep.

Social amenities, including schools and other public facilities, are under threat as the tides continue to eat away at the coastline.
