The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has launched a new digital platform to collect real-time data from five major power stations in the Ashanti Region, aimed at improving electricity supply and operational efficiency.

The new system is being deployed at the Anwomaso, Ridge, Konongo, Obuasi, and Dunkwa Bulk Supply Points.

With the aid of specialised computers, each station now sends live hourly updates directly to ECG's System Controller.

This advancement allows technicians to detect faults swiftly, analyse data more effectively, and respond promptly to fluctuations in electricity demand. "This is a big change from our old manual system, which could be slow and sometimes had errors," said Ing.
