John Quaye, a resident of Gyahadze, a community in Winneba in the Central Region, where the gruesome murder of the Senior Lecturer at the University of Education, Winneba, Prof Mawuadem Koku Amedeker, occurred, has shared details of the unfortunate incident.
In an interview with Accra-based Adom FM on May 23, 2025, Quaye revealed that rumours had circulated about the lecturer's disappearance, with some speculating that he had been kidnapped.
According to Quaye, this wasn't surprising, given that the lecturer had been receiving threats from unknown individuals in the community.
However, Quaye stressed in the video that the lecturer is known to be very cautious and circumspect in all his dealings, making the circumstances of his death shocking.
