Alfred Kumi, popularly known as Adenta Kumi has reportedly been picked up by heavily armed men in a dawn operation believed to have been carried out by officers of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, confirmed the arrest of Kumi hours ago.
In a Facebook post on Friday morning, Assafuah stated that Kumi was picked up from his residence about three hours ago by eight armed men.
According to the MP, six of the men were masked and carried AK-47 rifles, while two others were dressed in plain clothes. "These Rambo-style actions by government continue to raise concerns that bother on free speech and good governance," he posted, adding the hashtag #FreeAdentaKumiNow.
