The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) has declared that if the Ghana Education Service (GES) does not address the increasing number of threats and acts of violence against teachers in schools throughout the nation, it would launch a series of activities on June 1, 2025.
In an interview on Citi FM on Thursday, May 22, 2025, NAGRAT President Angel Carbonu emphasized the importance of self-defense in increasingly dangerous school settings. "The first order of life is self-preservation.

He added that educators are willing to take matters into their own hands if needed. "We will have to protect ourselves.
