The President of the National Graduate Association of Teachers (NAGRAT), Angel Carbonu, has issued a strong call for drastic action to address rising violence in Ghanaian schools, arguing that lenient disciplinary measures have rendered institutions ungovernable.

This follows NAGRAT's call for immediate actions from the Ghana Education Service (GES) to end violence in schools.

Speaking on the issue on Citi Eyewitness News on Thursday, May 22, Carbonu criticised the current approach to student discipline, stating that ineffective policies have allowed indiscipline to thrive, negatively impacting both teaching and learning. "We will have to stop romanticising the issue.

We will have to take very drastic and draconian measures because we are not in normal times," he asserted.
