A District Court in Mampongteng, Ashanti Region, has granted bail to a 16-year-old student of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (OKESS) and his stepfather, Daniel Owusu Baafi, charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
According to a repprt by asaaseradio.com, the court set bail at GH₵50,000 for the student and GH₵30,000 for Baafi, each requiring two sureties.
One surety for the student must be a government worker or senior staff earning at least GH₵4,000 monthly, while Baafi's surety must earn at least GH₵3,000.
Presiding magistrate Ms Natacha Abena Tuffuor made the ruling after hearing submissions from the defence lawyer.
