Suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo has filed a motion at the Supreme Court seeking an interlocutory injunction against the presidential committee set up to investigate petitions for her removal from office.

In legal documents filed on May 21, 2025, the Chief Justice names the Attorney-General, Justices Gabriel Scott Pwamang and Samuel Kwame Adibu-Asiedu, former Auditor-General Daniel Yao Domelevo, Major Flora Bazwaanura Dalugo, and Professor James Sefah Dzisah as defendants/respondents.

According to the motion, Justice Torkornoo is requesting the Supreme Court to restrain the committee, composed of the second to sixth defendants, from continuing any proceedings or actions relating to the inquiry into the three petitions seeking her removal.

She argues that the actions of the committee could prejudice the outcome of the main case currently before the Court.
