Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu, Attah Issah, has called for measured optimism following the recent appreciation of the Ghanaian Cedi against the US Dollar.

In an exclusive interview on Channel One Newsroom on Tuesday, May 20, he explained that the Cedi's performance is closely tied to interventions from the central bank, the government's fiscal discipline and some global factors.

He posits that policy tools and measures must be introduced to aid in sustaining the Cedi's gains in the medium to long term.

According to him, the government must focus on building strong economic fundamentals, such as boosting local production and diversifying exports to ensure the Cedi remains stable. "We should be excited but cautious.
