A vice president of policy think tank IMANI Africa, Kofi Bentil, has condemned the decision of public officers to purchase their cars after they leave office.
He has called for a ban on such practices, which he believes do not speak well of persons who occupy public offices.
Kofi Bentil's comment comes on the back of the recent arrest of Maxwell Kofi Jumah, who is said to have stolen three cars from the fleet at GIHOC, where he was managing director in the previous government.
To Kofi Bentil, what must be done is to auction vehicles that are above ten years old, while those under ten years old are kept in the fleet for state use.
