The University of Ghana Chapter of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG-UG) has demanded the immediate resignation of the Auditor-General, Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu.
Their call follows a special payroll verification audit report from the Auditor-General, which alleged that the University of Ghana overstated employee compensation by GH¢59.2 million between 2022 and 2024.
UTAG-UG has rejected the report, describing it as misleading and inaccurate.
The association argues that the findings do not reflect the actual situation and have unfairly damaged the image of the university and its staff.
